An Evening with Arlene Thompson, Animal Communicator
Thank you to rat adopter and foster mom Jennifer H. for recently opening her home to those who wished to be introduced to Arlene Thompson, an animal communicator. Those who attended shared many great stories about having animals as we grew up and the pets we have now, and we asked Arlene questions about her gift. Arlene gave great insight on communicating:
The question of how I connect with the animal is a little hard to describe. When I am beginning a session, I concentrate on the picture until I feel my energy connecting with that of the animal. I introduce myself and ask for permission to communicate with them. At this point I usually start receiving a deluge of sensory information in the form of thoughts, feelings, smells, tastes, and so on. It is then up to me to translate them into some kind of sensible order. Translating the information I receive has come with lots of training and practice.
I have come to learn that certain images are symbolic, such as the cat named Jasmine when I saw a crown on her head and I discovered later was nicknamed Queenie. Others are quite literal, like the dog that showed me a brown blanket with a tiger on it and told me her person had washed it and put it away and that she wanted it back because it was her favorite.
Other times I will receive smells such as flowers or taste things like apples (a message from a horse who wanted more time out in the field and green apples rather than red).
I often receive physical sensations from the animal which manifest themselves in my own body, not as intense as the animals are experiencing them, but enough to let me know where they are experiencing physical discomfort.
The single most intense message that I receive is how they are doing emotionally. I am flooded with feelings of joy, sadness, loneliness, fear, etc. Even when they can't "verbalize" how they feel, I can usually sense their emotional state. There are many other variables which enter into the equation, but these are the most prominent.
